Indonesia eVOA Required for Travelers Visiting Indonesia
Mandatory visa for eligible nationalities
Travelers from eVOA-eligible countries must hold a valid visa to enter Indonesia. The Electronic Visa on Arrival (eVOA) lets you complete it online before departure — apply in minutes, receive your approved visa by email, and skip the payment queues when you land in Bali, Jakarta, or anywhere in Indonesia.
What is the Indonesia eVOA?
The Electronic Visa on Arrival (eVOA) is the online version of Indonesia’s visa on arrival, issued by the Directorate General of Immigration before you travel. Instead of queuing to pay at the airport, you arrive with an approved visa and pass through the faster eVOA lanes. Travelers from eligible countries must hold a visa on arrival to enter Indonesia.
The application is fully online and typically takes a few minutes. You will be asked for your passport details, a recent photo, and basic travel information. Once processed, your eVOA is delivered by email as a PDF — save it to your phone or print a copy for your trip.
Who Needs an Indonesia eVOA?
- Tourism – Holidays in Bali, Lombok, Java, and across Indonesia, sightseeing, leisure travel
- Business – Short-term meetings, conferences, or client visits
- Family Visit – Visiting friends and family living in Indonesia
- Transit – Connecting through Indonesia to another international destination
Every traveler — including infants and minors — needs their own visa, issued against their own passport. You do not need an eVOA if you are an Indonesian citizen, hold a valid Indonesian residence permit (KITAS/KITAP) or another valid Indonesian visa, or are a citizen of a visa-exempt ASEAN member state.
Eligibility & Validity
Indonesia eVOA (Electronic Visa on Arrival) – Travelers from more than 90 eligible countries must hold a visa on arrival to enter Indonesia. The eVOA is the digital, apply-before-you-fly version: it is issued against your passport, which must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date with at least one blank page. A return or onward ticket is also required.
Once issued, the eVOA is valid for entry within 90 days. It allows a single entry with a stay of up to 30 days, which can be extended once — for a further 30 days — at an immigration office in Indonesia, for a maximum stay of 60 days. The visa is delivered by email as a PDF; carry a digital or printed copy with the same passport you applied with.

MonacoWho Needs an Indonesia eVOA?
Travelers from eVOA-eligible countries must hold a visa on arrival to enter Indonesia — whether visiting for tourism, family visits, business meetings, or transit. Every traveler, including minors and infants, needs their own visa issued against the passport they will travel with. Applying online before departure means you arrive with your visa already approved.
You do not need an eVOA if you already hold another valid Indonesian visa, are an Indonesian citizen, hold a KITAS/KITAP residence permit, or are a citizen of a visa-exempt ASEAN member state. After approval, save or print your eVOA PDF — immigration verifies it at the eVOA lane on arrival. All travelers must also complete the free All Indonesia Arrival Card within 3 days before arrival.
